DPF warning light

I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do with my wife’s Peugeot RCZ diesel which has done 135,000 miles. The DPF at risk of clogging light comes on every journey with the ‘engine fault’ warning light also coming on at times and occasionally going into limp mode.

The car was at a Peugeot main dealership a few months back and had the Eoyls fluid topped up. They ran a diagnostic check with no fault codes coming up. We took the car to a DPF specialist who again ran a diagnostic check with all being well and the differential pressure in the DPF was absolutely fine. My son has also reset all warning lights and fault codes twice, but the issue is a daily occurrence.

For years the car has made a ‘farting sound’ when turned off, but this has got no worse.

Any ideas????

Too much Fuel not enough air in the mixture if the car is farting? it might be unburnt fuel in the exhaust causing a popping or farting sound

Hi
No, the farting sound is several seconds after the engine has been turned off. I am not sure there is necessarily a connection

Perhaps try run some fuel additive or DPF cleaner through it & taking it for a burn out getting the engine red hot its primarily a soot or possibly a fuel system issue as failing injector faults can also trigger this warning by allowing excess fuel into the the filter soaking it with soot & ash causing the clogging problem
I have heard people taking the DPF out thoroughly cleaning it & refit the run it to full temp with no warnings or codes reappearing
