Having been a pioneer of modern computing in the sixties, and sticking with the state of the art developments up to the millennium, I like to feel part of the evolution process.
Some of the latest tricky stuff is quite awe inspiring, and Boston Dynamics are up the front with robots.
The motor industry has been using "static" robots in many areas for a long while, whether in assembly or the spray booth or other logistic aspects.
What Boston have done is to design and enable the training of their creations to work autonomously in many environments, including hostile and difficult conditions.
They also, from time to time, amuse all with videos of their "creatures".
The clip linked to below has their Atlas (x2), Spot and Handle, doing a dance.
Obviously there was a very significant element of training by human hand, but they learned their moves well and it is fun.
Only a few minutes long, so worth a view, I believe.
