Custom Remap quote

On Friday I called into a local engine tuning company Powertune to enquire about a remap. They are offering a Remap with a before and after Dyno run for £200, the company has been established in the town for over 20yrs and has a great reputation, the guy doing the tuning is ex RED engineer who used to prepare Colin Mcraes cars back in the day. Any other recommendations appreciated, I know Superchips have done some development work but to be honest the are just to far away.

Other than reputation it is all about location location location when it comes to a remap!

There are so many remap places out there but you have to be very careful who does your remap because this is the brain to your car they are dealing with and you don't want a couple of hundred quid to mess up your car.

I have no direct knowledge of any specific ones that are great or bad, we use Superchips because of reputation and we do development with them for the THP200 based upon the mod's we do so that we have direct experience to pass on to you. They are a little bit of a drive for us and there are a couple of other recommended by people we know within town, but we chose Superchips still.

Again do your research.

I would be hesitant to go stage 1 on the THP200 without supporting mods. Do Exhaust with high flow (or no) cats, Filter and Cooler first and then only demand more boost from the THP200.

Big Dave unfortunately on rcz the ecu doesn't permit to download the map via obd, you should disassemble the ecu unit and use special tool, not a 10$ elm cable..
for those who are going to disassemble the ecu unit i suggest to put it into the freezer - the glue will become like ice and you can easily open the unit. i didn't know it when i opened mine, so i lost about 1,5 hour just to open the unit.
to get the map you need a tool Fgtech Galletto Master - i got it from china for about 70-100$

This is not necessarily true. Superchips does all of our remaps through the OBD port.

Max thanks for reply I have the mods already, I just choose not to highlight them, I just need someone closer to home to sort it
