I have recently took my RCZ into Peugeot Gloucester to get a couple of faults repaired under my extended warranty.
The car is just over 3 years old and has developed the common problem of the boot opening when using the central locking, and just opening when travelling along or when you are opening the door.
Having read earlier posts on here, I just expected the switch to be replaced!
Well I received the call, to say that yes the switch was corroded due to the faulty seal, but under the warranty, any corrosion is not covered, oh and we need to order one in!
The service manager obviously has had dealings with this before, and was apologetic but it was out of his hands!
The switch to be changed including labour £71.
I have asked that when the switch is ready to be changed, that I will receive the old one, and that when the new one is fitted, that they completely seal it with silicone sealant!
As obviously water will still be leaking in due to the design fault!
It is my intention to take the matter up with the Peugeot Warranty , as clearly electrical components and water should not mix!!
I did however get the fault low level coolant sensor changed under the warranty
