and posts of other "detailing maniacs"
just kidding

After one week of cruising with the white pearl the smiles are still 24/7
:D
and, of course, in preparation of the arrival and after the take-over the following items somehow found themselves in my possession (there must be an intruder on my pc)

Meguiars Super Thick Lambswool Wool Wash Mitt Mit
Sonus Der Wunder Style Drying Towel - 24" x 30"
Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo and Conditioner
Valet Pro Ph Neutral Snow Foam 1L ValetPro Car Valeting
CAR WASH KEW ALTO NILFISK SNOW FOAM LANCE BOTTLE 1 LTRS
Wheel Seal & Shine: Repels brake dust & dirt, 250ml
Paint Seal & Shine: Instant Car Wax & Paint Finish
Chemical Guys Black Light Hybrid Radiant Finish 473 ml
Collinite Auto Wax No 476s Car Wax 18oz Complete Kit
Meguiars Quik Clay Detailing Starter Kit Paint Protection

So I guess I am ready to go, what do you think?

Just deciding whether to do the first polish with Collinite or Paint Seal & Shine. After the claying of course, however I really do not think it will make much of a difference as the car was delivered directly from the production facility in Austria (no parking lot waiting for this one luckily).

Oh yes, of course I fully blame RCZ1 (hail to the Queen) and alll you other "strange strange" people on the forum!!
Hope the weather holds next week so I do the preparation and post some pics.

Hail the queen
Just completed an afternoons detailing before the shower demonstrated the futility of my labour.

Well I get blamed for everything - just like being at home

Pretty impressive list of products there Teodor

You may well be surprised how much "stuff" the clay picks up, even on a new car.

May I just point out that amongst your list of products you don't actually have a polish. You have 2 sealants and a paste wax. A wax/ sealant is a Last Stage Product (LSP) and primarily provides protection. A polish provides the actual shine on paintwork. A polish should be used after claying and before your wax/ sealant. something like Autoglym Super Resin Polish from Halfords will provide the shine that you require.

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but want to help you get the ultimate shine and protection for your car.
Can I suggest that when you do come to choose which wax or sealant to use that you go for your Chemical Guys Blacklight sealant, it will look awesome on your pearl White. I have this on Pearl at the moment and it really adds to the shine and really makes the flake pop  Colinite lasts for about 9 months onwards so just depends how often you want to use your different products. A sealant cannot be used ontop of a wax but a wax can be put on top of a sealant, if you wish. May be better to put your Colinite on for the winter.

Have fun and post some pics of pearl when you have finished and let us know how you get on

Being a mere common man I realise every post I read how much I do not know
The suggested polish is in the post, thanks, you ought to agree a commission I tell you! :)

So, to summarise my steps for the first detailing (maybe some other common man/woman will benefit in the future)
- Snow foam
- Washing
- Drying (including hair dryer) :p
- Clay
- Polish
- Sealant
- Put in the garage, cover and don't disturb (that last one not very likely but after all the work ….)

Just amended a bit
- Wash wheels first (you don't want to splatter your nice clean paintwork)
- Snow foam (make sure you rinse it down thoroughly- will also help in the cleaning stage)
- Washing
- Drying (including hair dryer) :p Like it  - Clean windows
- Clay
- Polish
- Sealant
Don't forget to seal your alloys and apply tyre dressing
- Put in the garage, cover and don't disturb (that last one not very likely but after all the work ….)

Also don't forget to raise the spoiler manually to clean underneath it and also don't forget to clean the door shuts and the boot. Then there is the engine bay............................................................................. :!:
