Hi Figo, The oil you require is Total Quartz INEO ECS 5w 30. I purchased 5 litres from Amazon at £25.99. It took them 3 attempts to get me the correct oil. Sorry Figo, I have the 2.0 HDi and don't know if this is the one for you.:greetings-wavingblue:

Hi Figo, According to my warranty and maintenance manual the recommended lubricants are as follows.

1.6 THP Petrol = Total Quartz 0W-30 B71 2296 and INEO ECS 5W-30 B71 2290.

2.0HDi = Total Quartz INEO ECS B71 2290.

QUARTZ INEO ECS oil is a synthetic anti-pollution 5W-30 oil which combines anti-pollution and fuel economy performance. For the engines for which it is appropriate, it contributes to achieving the reduced fuel consumption and polluting gas emission targets set by Peugeot. It is strongly recommended for vehicles fitted with a Particle Emission Filter.
Hope this helps. :greetings-wavingblue:

Hi 0058RON, I think that only the HDi model has the particle emission filter, but I am not sure. A call to the dealer with your engine and chassis number should confirm this. :greetings-wavingblue:

Particle filters are a Diesel only thing and are fitted to every new engine by law. So the answer is if you have a new Diesel it will have DPF.

They are a horrible pain in the ass but they only way a Diesel will pass new emmissions.

Hi Figo, I knew we would visit this minefield someday. The warranty book states that only lubricants meeting the Peugeot PSA PEUGEOT CITROEN (B71 2296) or (B71 2290) standard for oil changes on your vehicle.

For TOPPING UP only, the ACEA standard to observe is.
Engines without particle filter: A3/B4
Engines with particle filter: C2 as first choice, or C3

Each manufacturer has their own standard. So long as you top up with the PSA Peugeot Citroen standard you should be ok. The 5w30 looks set to be the best that suits most manufacturers. I also think it will be difficult to find Total oils in the highlands. The alternatives are Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge. I know a lot of the Audi drivers are moving into Mobil 1 as it covers DPFs and longlife servicing. :greetings-wavingblue:

Advanced/Unparalleled Technology

Found this on the Total oils site. The RCZ comes from the factory with ACTIVA INEO ECS as its first fill.

13% less phosphorus with ACTIVA INEO ECS by comparison with ACTIVA 7000 10W40 and 17% by comparison with ACTIVA 9000 5W40. The phosphorus contained in conventional lubricants damages catalytic converters. ACTIVA INEO ECS, thanks to its low phosphorus content, optimizes the functionality and life of catalytic converters.

Thanks to ACTIVA INEO ECS, the metal ash, which clogs the DPFs, is reduced:
-57% by comparison with a standard 10W40 ACEA oil**.
-35% by comparison with ACTIVA 7000 10W40***. :greetings-wavingblue:

I used 5w30 fully synthetic in the 308CC to top up, that had the 156 engine.

As I was up at the far side at the top of the Isle of Skye when the warning light came on, I had to do without the Total brand :D
