clutch problem

I have a 11 month old tax rcz under 10000 miles and the clutch on my 1.6 200 bhp is making a horrendous noise when doing a hill start,
under normal driving the clutch is fine . I have taken it into peugeot and just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem.
Peugeot head office are saying it maybe wear and tear, meaning a hefty bill, any help would be appreciated.

10,000 only and its wear and tear? is it made of butter? It should last according to the abuse you submit it to, but 10,000 is a bit lowish to accept it for wear and tear!

Hefty bill I'd be looking it fixed under the warranty if the cars less than a year old.

The warrenty on a clutch is 6 months, the garage have said it may be our driving, I pointed out to them that we are in our mid forties and don't spend our nights doing donuts in Tesco's car park, we also pointed out that we have a five year old year Fiat Punto and our previous car before the RCZ which we had for 8 years and never had a clutch problem.

Surely a part like that should be covered for the full three years/60k miles? If they can't gurantee a clutch for 3 years, what chance have the other parts got...

Just to let you know and may be of interest to other RCZ owners, the pressure plate was found to have a pre manufactured 5mm diameter hole in it, this was causing the noise and smell.

Peugeot replaced it at no cost as it was a manufacturing problem, clutch and pressure plate was sent back to technical head office who were baffled as to why the hole was there. They don't know if other RCZ's may be affected or if it was a one off.

hmm. I have a diesel so its probably different, But I get a smell when reversing sometimes. But no noises.

mine is the same i get a burning smell when reversing or doing some fast driving. Nothing that this car should not handle.

6 months or 6000 miles.... whatever's first :wtf:
