Hello all
Just to say we used Mick Zeus's RCZ R for the CAR Magazine shoot, after your help on here. Mick highlighted a couple of issues to be aware of, including his brakes being replaced under warranty, and the switch to a better cambelt tensioner. If there's anything else we should mention (for all RCZs, not just the R), it would be much appreciated if you could let me know and I'll include in the article, along with a mention for the forum.

One thing I forgot to mention Ben which is quite crucial with a secondhand RCZ, and that is the jacking points.
Many have been folded over by garages using flat headed jacks. This not only damages the jacking point but can in some cases damage or split the sill. These can be costly to replace, so attention to be placed before purchase, then the garage will have to rectify to get the sale. Thanks for the PhotoShoot... Mick :thumbup:

Carbon build up on petrols is an issue.

Petrols run chains not belts, the HDi engine has a belt.

As with most Peugeots a tip top battery is desirable as small electrical glitches can creep in with a less than perfect one.

As above, weak jacking points.

I’m not so sure this is a common major issue as to be honest I don’t know if anyone that has had to have the head and inlets cleaned. I’ve heard of the problem and the Mini guys talk about it but I don’t think the problem blights the RCZ.

I've heard of a couple Neil, but as you say I've read of more minis with the issue.

You should also mention that owning an RCZ can result in the medical condition known as 'Torticollis'.

Torticollis is another name for having a 'twisted neck' or a 'wry neck'. Developing a wry neck (acute torticollis) occurs when the muscles supporting your neck become painful. The pain is usually just on one side of your neck and stiffness of the muscles in that area twists the neck to one side. These symptoms usually come on very quickly, often very soon after purchasing your first RCZ because you keep looking over your shoulder to admire the car every time you park it anywhere... :lol:
