Hi All,
I have a 1.6 thp 200 and seen the cam gasket was leaking oil. So got the garage to order me one and change it, 4 days later and 5 gaskets we finally got the right one for the car direct from peugeot in the end.
So all went back together ok.

1 day later the engine went into limp mode... Codes p0016 and p2236 was coming up. Clear the codes and after 100 yards the car again pulls up the codes.

After hours playing with it we seen the solenoid valve has lost all its memory.
We reset the parameters for the engine and boom the car once again was a dream... 24 hours later same issue. So once again reset everything and perfect... The AGAIN 24 hours later same codes.

The car was perfect before the gasket, how the hell could things go so wrong since.

Any help would be massively welcomed.

P0016 is a timing fault code. Which given you have a THP is a whole world of its own.
P2236 is I think something to do with a Lambda sensor?

Have they clobbered stuff and damaged it? Wiring, actual sensors.

Also, what solenoid valve lost its memory?

P2263 or 36 is a turbo over boost fault

The variable valve solenoid value is the one which keeps losing its memory.

The garage said they checked all the connections and they all look good.

Well if P0016 is correct, and its not fibbing to you. Like they can with a poor/old battery.
I think your issue is engine timing. As I recall mine had this code, something like crank correlation or something. It needed the whole timing gear changing.
Though mine was rattling from cold.

So sensor, or chain. Hopefully not chain.

Can't hear any chain rattle, starts on the button smooth when codes are off.

Then hopefully it's a sensor/wiring fault. It could be a faulty cam sensor.
No idea how to change those though.

Did you get it checked at a Peugeot dealer? As much as it's a pain in the backside to, they do have the correct diagnostic equipment.
Which is actually available on the internet, if you have a laptop.
I have it as I've had far too many Peugeots over the years.

Do you have a Link to the place where I can download the peugeot software please... That would be awesome!

I can't remember where mine came from off the top of my head as I've had it literally years.

You will need an interface too to go between the car and the laptop.
Usually you can get these as a bundle.

I checked again for P2263 / P2265 & both relate to turbo boost performance

Have you checked all the pipe work around the turbo just a tiny leak will upset the sensor’s , did they remove any pipes when changing the gasket they may of inadvertently knocked one of I had similar problems an it was a tiny vacuum pipe with a broken lock tab an mine threw up a cam chain issue an it’s now fine an has been 8 months now
