Hi all I bought My 1st rcz last week I bought it as a non runner the car starts and runs but cylinder 4 is misfiring I have changed coils spark plugs. But before we get into that I ran it on my drive today for 20 mins and cylinder 4 kicked into life then went again. Also the main thing now is all of the coolant came gushing out from the middle if the engine bay somewhere with the engine running it looses coolant as fats as I can fill it with hosepipe. Please help Fix the leak first then onto cylinder 4. Thanks Guys

Leak could be radiator hose the Pipe from the water pump to the Thermostat housing or the housing itself has split ?
Take the plugs out & check if any are wet ?

Is there foam on the back of the oil filler cap?

If it is true the cylinder head gasket is probably damaged.

Thank you for the replies I am so grateful the plugs are dry. I cannot get to the hoses do I have to take the battery and plastics off? Also the oil filler cap back is clean.

Is the leak at the front or back of the engine? At the back of the engine, there is a plastic pipe between the thermostat and water pump which gets brittle and cracks. This pipe also has a junction which connects to the expansion tank.
If it’s the front then like Pedro said check the radiator hoses and thermostat housing.

I have checked and it is the thermostat housing has come apart so the spring inside is visible does it fix back together or is it moulded as one and needs replacing??

It has come apart where the blue gasket is where it fits to the engine with 3 bolts

That’s good news for an easy repair. The pipe at the rear is a bastard to do, the thermostat is a fairly simple job

Codes are P1336 and P1340
Both can be due to the misfire of cylinder 4, it does not have to be a problem with the chain.

Fix that misfire first, coil, spark plug, injector, carefully examine cables and connectors to make sure they do not have a missing or bent pin.
