Had an awesome day
Got to drive around the full GP Silverstone circuit!!
The RCZ was very good with fairly balanced handling and good brakes, but the gear change, short throw on a 200 gt, was notchy.
The 208 GTI was sooo easy to drive but not dramatic.
The Citroen DS3 racing was a revelation. It was almost as fast as the GTR through the bends, as they weigh 2 tonnes, and has a lovely squirrelly feel on the brakes as I was confident enough to leave it to the last second, for me at least, before the corners.
The A3 diesel 150 handled lovely, really balanced but it was so slow.
The XF 2.2 diesel Sportback was ok but as you can imagine bit of a lump but hid its mass quite well.
The F Type is just WOW. It's like having a dog in the back, what a bark. Roof up or roof down he asks? Down down down! Off you go nice and sedately squeeze the throttle and welcome to Battersea. The kick is fearsome and its so easy to slide and hold, it was probably only a few inches but for me it was heroic. 3 laps was not enough boo hooo.
I drove the XFR on Stowe which was too small and busy to appreciate fully and the A180 was ok for the size but the instructor was a bit, shall we say aggressive and had me cut infield to overtake other cars.
Finally the GT86 Toyota was a hoot on the skid pan and showed my lack of skill when trying to drift it, lets see if I can get another go next year!
