Air Con Minimum Temp ?

With this hot weather I'm using the air con more frequently, however I'm finding that it is not as cold as other cars I've owned, also if I use the "Auto" climate control it's seems to be a tad warmer than if I just use the air con by itself. :eusa-think:

Does anyone know what the average temp should drop too when cold is selected and air con on.
Mine drops too 40f at the center vents if set on "lo" with air con only and blower high.
I've been told that 46f is about an average, but that seems a little warm as far as I'm concerned.
Not sure how this compares to other systems.
One of the best I've experienced was my old Renault Megane, it was so cold it would condensate the outside of the screen if the blower was aimed up to the screen vents.

When extremely hot during noon time, I set to 16 deg C.

In early morning, I set to 20 deg C.

I do notice that the air is only cold when the setting is 18 deg C or below.

In sunny Cyprus, it is around 28C most days; I have yet to feel cool in my RCZ, I even checked to see I did not have the seat heaters on. I have never had to set a car's temperature to less than 20C before, but I will have to try it.

Im pretty sure that the number on the AC doesnt actually correspond to physicla temps, ie, 20 is not 20C etc. Im sure i remember reading that in the users manual as well.

I have noticed that the AC is not very good either, and doesnt really cool the car, i find it best to open the windows and pop onto the Autobahn which is 2mins from my house. couple of minutes at 120mph soon cools the interior down :D

I find it cools the car down plenty for me but I have mine set to A/C and Auto. Don't have any disks turned up to blow air in any direction. On these settings it keeps a cool ambient temperature especially if set to 18.

I purchased a little gadget that slots into the air vents to test the temps.
The lowest mine dropped too was 40f, this was with the air con only, it rose slightly in "Auto Mode".
I think 40f is around the average for a vehicle air con.
Maybe its the dynamics of the cabin interior why the cabin does not feel an ambient chill all over and only at the vent outlets.
Some of my previous cars felt very cold on entering if the air con had been on for a short while but I dont find this with the RCZ.

Anyway it looks like we've had our sunny days, its back to rain again.
ps,
40f is around 4.4c, a fridge operates at around 5c. So in theory the interior should be as cold as a fridge
