Advice Sought - Euro trip......

We're thinking about taking a Euro road trip in the C63 sometime this summer.

Has anyone got any advice/opinions/suggestions on where to go, roads/regions we 'must' do? Has anyone done such a trip?

Before everyone suggests it, Steve has whistfully mentioned "Nurburgring" but even I think he might be just a tad jessy to take a £50K motor round the track.

We thought we'd probably take the ferry from Rosyth or Newcastle (expensive but probably not bad in comparison to driving to London/Eurostar) and take it from there. I fancy northern Europe - Denmark, Sweden maybe even Norway but petrol prices there will probably be extortionate! Or the Alps.

We just don't know where to start!!

Be lazy and go to the Isle of Man there's no speedlimits outside of the towns. U can do the TT course over the mountain if ur brave enough. And Everybody speaks English and do proper food.

So D your going on a European vacation  I always dream of doing this type of holiday, driving something like a Aston DBS but.... :eusa-think: a C63 WOULD DO NICELY  My ideal trip, would be to drive through france down to The Cote d' azur then on to Italy then finish in Naples, It would be a far more a romantic trip than the one you suggested

Donna I've done the ferry from Newcastle into Amsterdam a number of occasions, never taking the car but you can go anywhere from there and the roads are great, also been into France and Belgium via euro tunnel, it's a great run down to train from here, just do an overnight half way, train is super fast and super easy and i must say also super cheap if you book.
I wouldn't take my car onto the ferry at Newcastle that's for sure, too many trucks and caravans!!!
Matt I'm going over to the german DTM at Hockenheim on the 20th of October, staying in Frankfurt with a trip to mercedes Stuttgart in between, flying over and hiring a car there so cheating a wee bit [FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND WINKING EYE]

Cheers Mike, that's good to know. Might look into the eurostar option then....although that option will likely include a stopover at the outlaws in Norfolk.... I think we're looking at about £400 just for the ferry from up here (why oh why can't we take the 50+ mpg RCZ?) But if it's something HE wants to do, he can damn well pay haha

Mike...that...sounds...AWE-SOME!!! :-o:-o:-o:-o However, not that I'm even slightly bitter, I'd have a chuckle if your hire car was an Aygo!!! ;-) :D I trust there'll be pictures aplenty on the old book of face?!

Was only just last year I did the euro tunnel, can't remember exactly the price but it was under £80 return, got off train and was in Belgium in 40mins,I never had the privilege of doing the trip in a C63, just a ford c-max but the motorways are so much better than ours making driving a breeze, not sure how'd I'd tackle your choice thou, £400 on the ferry or a stop over at the in laws, I'd give that one some serious thought!!
Oh I'll just give you one tip Donna, fuel the beast upto the brim this side of the water, if you think petrol is steep here just wait till you have to fill up over there!!!!

Matt, I wouldn't get into an Aygo so it bloody better not be, an Audi A4 sounds more like the mark ;)
There will defo be photos a plenty, it's the last race of the season so not only cars to take pics of.
Can I also say Donna, only £92 return direct from Aberdeen to Frankfurt :)

France/Italy/Alps/Germany/Autobahn sounds great tho. i would definitely go to some of those places too.

Would so like to go down to Stelvio Pass with my RCZ but it's a bit of a drive at 2000+ km one way.... A lof of Germany would be Autobahns which would be quicker but fuel economy suffers instead then.

Here's an inspirational video for you :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=od4GnARE8H0

yeah, I liked Jassy's idea of the south of France/Italy (maybe he could take me in the AM and romance me - I'll take the tent!!!)..... but it's just too far. Maximum of 2 weeks holiday and all of it would be on the road. We thought we'd probably pick 3/4 places and stay 3/4 days in each.
Amsterdam would probably be our first stop for a couple of days.
I thought: Amsterdam.....Copenhagen......Berlin.....Nurburgring.....Brussels....home
