It will still be named 308, they've stated that already i think. I wouldn't mind the 1.6 THP but they could get a move on and release the 260 BHP model already! 
Then slam that into the RCZ R, 208 GTi/RC & the 308 GTi! And then just because they can: add the THP 200 to the 508!

the 308 GTI will bee powered by a 1.6 turbo tuned to 220bph plus. it will take cues from the 208 such as three dimensional chequerboard grill, deeper bodywork and a roof spoiler at the rear. :dance:

Another article I read has a Peugeot rep stating that there is a possibility that the 'R' brand will not be restricted to the RCZ and extended to the 208 to sit above the 208. I'll see if I can unearth the link.
