Hi and welcome to the forum :greetings-wavingblue:
That’s one hell of a photo there! Never seen that before don’t know if it’s a mock up or genuine car but sure does look awesome
Loads of owners have upped the performance of there RCZ’s with no real difficulties or mechanical problems as such, there are however design problems with this engine timing chain/tensioner/guides etc which at some point will need attention but generally as long as it’s serviced properly you should have no worries. Obviously any mega performance upgrades can lead to premature failure of standard components but that’s just the downside of pushing a motor to it’s limits.
What sort of power we’re you aiming at? The body work in that photo is just gonna cost a fortune to have fabricated but if you get there it’s gonna be one awesome Z!

You will never get 400bhp from this engine reliably for any useful period of time.

The R is 270bhp and racing versions achieve 325-330 (308gti Cup, which has basically the same engine as R types).

The R has heavily modified engine internals over the 200 to achieve that.

If you’re looking for that kind of power, you’d be better off with some kind of engine transplant, and then there would be the gearbox, differential and drive shafts to think about, maybe chassis too.

Having said that, approx 250 bhp has been achieved from the standard 200 unit. How peaky it all is I don’t know.

The guy I know that did it, didn’t mention it - and he’s been running it for a few years now.

Steven Ansell - if you read this, may be you can confirm.

Pete I am sure I read that to handle the extra power, the clutch has to be beafed up.

That may be true for the R. However, I don’t know if Steven upgraded his clutch, although he is running more power on his 200.

That’s why I asked, if he reads all this, to confirm.
