So I've had this car for a week. Test drive and everything seemed perfect. After an hour of driving an engine message saying "Enginge fault, repair needed" popped and the car went straight into LIMP Mode. After an hour of leaving the car off, I went for a drive, and it seemed to have reset itself and drove perfectly. After about 300 miles, the same thing happened. It's now reset and driving perfectly. I'm struggling to find a garage near me to get a diagnostic ASAP.

Some people have had an issue due to using E10 petrol. Could it be that simple?

Has anyone had this issue and if so, is it an easy fix??

Thank you!

You never said what model it is but E10 should be fine in a 156 although the 200 & "R" run better on E5-99 RON as they need more kick from the fuel when accelerating why not buy a cheap scanner & do it yourself although if your driving 300 miles without a fault does seem odd but if the ECU is triggering the stop light then there may be an underlying problem that should be investigated

Personally I wouldn’t put E10 in any of the petrols, but I don’t think that’s your problem, like Pedro said buy a scanner and it will give you a good starting point a scanner with the THP engine is a necessity I'm afraid
