Hi, I’ve Just got a 2014 156bhp and it feels flat/slugish - no warning lights on and I’ve not had chance to scan it yet. Mates auntie has been pootling around town in it for years. Before I throw it at my mechanic are they known to be slow ? Anybody recommend a decent remap around Manchester/cheshire.

Thanks

Before you remap it’s best to know it’s in good health.
I have a 156 and don’t find it sluggish at all. Being a direct injection engine and having spent years tootling about it could be in need of the inlet valves cleaning and a very thorough service. Then a bit of gradual Italian tuning to blow the cat and exhaust out.

I mean, compared to a Ferrari it's slow but, no it's not a slow car generally!

The 156 is far more nifty than its counterparts I service one of these & when they get new plugs coil packs & clean oil they go very well & where do you find cars with 156 BHP these days they are all now 3 Pot sewing machines with elastic band cambelts that rot in worn oil

The carbon buildup in the intake ducts would need to be cleaned.

Recommended at 60.000 Klm on direct injection engines with mine I had the full cylinder head refurb it was a hefty wedge to pay but a lot cheaper than a dealers Mortgage (Friends with benefits) & it now goes like S**T off a shovel & probable even faster now the timing is not staying in bed after a twin Vanos solenoid replacement
