Hi all  not sure if this posted in the correct place? However my RCZ is booked into tomorrow for its 1k courtesy check/service, could anyone enlighten me as to what this entails, just so I know what to look out for ??

Many thanks in advance :D

As far as I am aware it's just a general check over to make sure there are no leaks or obvious problems. I am sure you will get far more detailed responses from other members but I think that is the jist of the 1000m service.

Hiya Rob

I'm not sure if this is a new thing with the 2013 model or just your dealership. I know in the past with previous new cars that I have purchased, they were always given a check over at or around the 1K mile mark. This was to ensure that everything had bedded in properly and to check & re torque things as well as to ensure that there were no fluid leaks. It gives you the opportunity to ask any questions that have arisen since taking ownership. Nice to read that an old fashioned approach has been resurrected even if it is only by your dealership

Many thanks RON & Grantp  it's nice to know that some dealers still take the time to preform continuity checks, it will also give me the opportunity (once I've removed the snow & ice off it!) to ask Peugeot why the service check states 8900 miles to next service, especially as it just done over 1200?? I suspect it's just requires a reboot on the service counter :D

My dealership did suggest a 10,000 mile service, so I took mine in for it, again I don't think its a full blown service like 20,000 but a general check of things.

Ron over to you for a more in depth analysis of the 10,000 m service.

How could I resist such an invitation?

However, things are no longer as straight forward as they once was. When we bought our RCZ's they were due the first service at 20K miles or 2 years whichever came first. Then due to wishing to increase business for their workshops they invented a Precautionary/Optional 10K interim Check. Not taking advantage of this £100 check did not have any effect upon our cars warranty.

Then in the middle of last year, all new RCZ's were sold with from memory (mines not too good) a 12K or 1 year service plan. Same car, same engine only difference is you needed to spend more money on servicing in order to retain your warranty cover.

I have not heard as of yet what conditions they have placed on the 2013 model.

Once again many thanks for the detail guys  although I cannot believe for a single minute, those fine & honourable staff at the dealers would think about 'creating' unnecessary work in order to generate extra income??.....walks away whistling quietly ;)

If I'm offered/persuaded to have this intermediate 'check' carried out.....they will be politely told to bore-off :D

They basically take ur nice clean car in check the oil hard job that then spray the washer jets from the windscreen and headlights all over ur nice shinny car then give it back to u covered in water marks but hey at least they don't charge u for the pleasure rant over.

Like it bigmac

Just returned from the check up, fortunately no extra mess on body work except for the ubiquitous grease print by the door handle :( at least they sorted the squeak coming from the bonnet gas struts, apparently it's was preservative left after manufacture :D
