It honestly took me so long to get to the bottom of this I needed to share the results incase anyone else has the same problem.

Thought I would give everyone an update and finalise this thread. I had the car to a good auto electrician last week. He checked out the electrical side of the VVL lift system and he confirmed there is no faulty wiring. The system is functioning BUT the stepper motor although cycling, will not...

It’s the same with it disconnected. Have also plugged it into another motor (out of the engine) and still no difference.

I’m not sure how to do the fuel pressure checks so no. Can I do them through my obd reader? It has a live data function on it. What should I be looking for?

So I removed fuse 1 for 15 minutes, refitted and started the engine. Everything is still the same unfortunately.

I took a video of the vvt motor cycling the vvt gear and cam back and forth whilst cycling the ignition on and off. All seemed to work fine and always returns to the centre position. Makes me think it is working as it should but I’m no expert. Unfortunately I don’t know how to load videos on...

I did this. Found it on a mini forum

New plugs in today and still the same fault code p1030. starts and ticks over fine but really doesn’t want to Rev up past tickover so is un drivable. I’m totally lost with this now.
