I own an 2012 RCZ THP-156 with 77,600km. About a year ago started getting the P0087 code and missfires. Changed plugs and coils, same problem. Was told it was the HPFP. Ordered Chinese refurbished got a dud (27mm). Took my own pump apart (as per You-tube videos) cleaned refilled with hydraulic...
I had the usual 0087 code plus missfire 1331,2,4 . The 6/12 model THP-156 with 46k miles went into limp mode . Decided to get a refurbished HPFP (1920ll) from China. Took of my pump measured the membrane (as per You tube videos) got 27mm (fail). Checked my Chinese pump 27mm as well . Decided to...
As winter has just started (Australia) tried starting the heater, even on high there is no warm air. Had the thermostat done last year and it took about 2 weeks to get a faint warm air flow, but now absolutely nothing. Air conditioning on cold works fine. Any ideas.
, Just repaired my HPFP, just like on You Tube videos, dissmantle, clean , refill with hydraulic fluid (synthetic recomended). So far 2 months and 1500km no problems. Cost about $20 and about 4 hours getting the pump of and dissmantling it.
Could be spark plugs or coils (spark plug changes every 20-30k on THP-156) could be fuel injectot, line or the High Pressure fuel Pump ( which fails anytime from 60--90k the dreaded 0087 fault code).
There were 31 cars brought into Australia, all were presold and they very rarely come on to the market. That last one at $29k only advertised for 3 weeks. Considering a 156 auto costs about $20k for 100k km and the 200 manual about the same. the R is a bargain.
In Australia out of the 31 RCZR's imported, none has been for sale for like 2 years. Normal RCZ's ( fully loaded ) are A$ 14,000 ( L$8,000 ) 110,000 mil. to A$26,000 ( L$14,000 ) for a 35,000 mil.
Problem similar to yours, started at 100ml progressed t0 400ml for 2 hours driving. Mechanic diagnosed water pump, but would only do the whole water pump, thermo housing and all pipes for 1100 pounds (150 parts + 950 labour). Did water pump myself, unfortunately stripped one thread, Still...
Watch out for coolant leaks, thermostat, water pump or the pipe water pump to thermostat. Parts are cheap but getting to them is very labour intensive. These can fail every 50,000 km. Try to keep petrol above half way mark, to presserve the high pressure fuel pump (annecdotal). Check oil...
Currently have the same problem, changed water pump (hard to see the leak because of cover under pump and leak being small and infrequent) but after 2 month another small coolant loss, could be the pipe between the thermo and pump, but getting to it would be a nightmare (even the pump wasn,t...
In Australia we only got 31 RCZ-R's they all got presold, haven't seen one for sale in the last 4 years. Never seen one on the road. With 31,500 miles (50,000km) RCZ 's ( not RCZ-R's) prices are around (23-27,000aust dollars)12,500-14500 pounds.
