I have finally bought my dreamy Moroccan Red Hdi 2014 new shape and love it :)

The ride is far better than I had feared with the crazy 19" + 35 profile tyres,...however a small pothole will unsettle it in a corner and an average pothole makes u swear out loud at the thieving Gov and Councils who do next to nothing to maintain our roads. Spend millions on cameras and the like...but who cares about potholes outside London...

....anyways..... with my near sole goal being to significantly improve general comfort and remove the risk of catastrophic self destruction when a larger hole goes undetected due to lighting / full of water.

Lets start with oe wheels only, the 19" - what is the highest profile anyone has experience of that fit, not foul? - I am suspecting 40, but would love to think 45 is practical (even if width goes down a size to 225s / steering lock has to b restricted slightly with end stop?)

18" oe wheel: I am assuming 50 profile fit ok, 245s?

My 235 35 19" set up has speedo over reading significantly, which leads me to believe it ws designed for 40s / 19 anyhow?

As I say, I am impressed with the maturity of the general ride, however the risk of damage, if 'only' alloys when hitting a disguised pothole is Very real... 35s are for styling / stance appeal, not practicality or even cornering improvement, with ever present danger of hole impact whilst cornering with any g load.

The standard tire size for an RCZ with 19" rims is 235/40/19, not 35.

The issue of suspension and tire comfort has been discussed extensively on this forum, with the conclusion that there's no clear solution.

Personally, I've been driving cars with stiff suspensions for decades, and I don't find the RCZ uncomfortable, I'm used to it.

For a while, I drove a Citroën C2, which was noticeably stiffer than my current RCZ.

I'm currently using Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tires. They're not exactly more comfortable, but they are quite quiet.

Low-profile tires need to be inflated to the recommended pressure, or even a little more, to avoid losing the tire on a pothole, like happened to me once.

Hmm, thats what I was thinking - Searches had shown 35 and 40

So, that being the case, I imagine 45s might fit?

For those wanting to fit 35s, everything is fine.....until u drive on a UK 'road' (known as a track to most non Brits...) - The ride is just fine - the potholes however are truly alarming and your entire drive is spent scoping for in coming potholes

Anyone know what the pressures should b for 235 35 19" on an Hdi?

think I shall go 36 /26 psi on the 19 35s then

It steers like a single seater on a smooth main road - weaving vigorously at sensible speed feels like an F1 warming their tyres! Ultra direct. Slightly unsettled too at a cruise, u have to always actively input micro corrections
