    Driving to Italy

Yes, good point - I probably should have mentioned that England would probably come just a hair above Belgium in my tier list - it is pretty awful driving in England isn't it :cautious:

    Driving to Italy

I got back just before the weekend. A few final thoughts and car photos from the trip: - The major point to note is that the car performed absolutely flawlessly for the entire journey. It got a lot of (I'd like to think) jealous glances from other road users on the way and someone in Berlin...

    Driving to Italy

Couple more photos for you good people: Found a friend parked up near a gymnasium. The guy saw us and was waving and gesticulating as to his ownership of the Italian RCZ through the windows of the gym! On a foggy cliff top on the Adriatic coast: A slightly older car seen in a flea market...

    Driving to Italy

I remember those days, at least from the back seat of my father's car! Driving around Europe in the 1970s was a more serious proposition than today - no AC, no satnav, no safety features. Respect 💪 We've done just over 1,400 miles as of today and still not halfway through the third tank. Mostly...

    Driving to Italy

Back on the road today, we did 400 miles from Strasbourg to Bergamo (near Milan).. Somewhere in the Alps in Switzerland: Parked up near some hills in Northern Italy:

    Driving to Italy

Thought I'd share a few photos as I drive from Northampton to Bologna in Italy, and back via Berlin, in my HDI. Started yesterday, stayed in Reims on the way down and tonight in Strasbourg. Amazingly, so far all on one tank of diesel - 600 miles with 1/8 of a tank left! Will not be driving for...

HDi Sport - ESC & ABS warning lights plus other probs

If anyone is interested, this turned out to be due to a broken switch on the brake pedal that activates all the above features (and the hill start hold feature). A simple part and cheap to buy but £400 to diagnose and fit. Then followed by my high pressure fuel pump going, so add £1000 to that...

HDi Sport - ESC & ABS warning lights plus other probs

Hi guys, this has probably been covered but the search function won't let me search for ESC or ABS :cautious: Got back from a 700 mile trip yesterday, car was perfect all week. Today I have: - ESC / ASR and ABS warning lights on - no more suggestions for when to change gear on the screen - no...

    Stalling at low revs constantly

Mine started doing this after a recent service - it turned out the fuel filter housing had a crack in it, and the service had disturbed it so it started leaking. They replaced it for free and now everything is fine. (Diesel too)

What phone holders are you using?

Yep - it's proved to be rock steady during even long bumpy journeys along Norfolk cunnry roads!

    Orange RCZ in Northampton

I passed a really nice looking orange / bronze RCZ parked in the vicinity of The Racecourse in Northampton on my morning run today. It's not the first RCZ I've seen around here but it is the first I've seen since becoming a member here.

    Brakes rear

Great, thanks :) I've gone for black coated drilled and grooved, and saved £200 on the price the garage were quoting for plain discs. (y)

    Brakes rear

Glad I saw this, I'm going to go for the drilled and grooved discs too. Good advice (y) Maybe a bit of a stupid question but it's one disc per wheel, right? So if I buy "1 pair of discs" this will do both front wheels, and 1 pair does both rear wheels??
