I would imagine the car key plip enables a signal to power the mirror circuits, If the switch is not working correctly there could be a broken circuit - and as your problem is intermittent its a good place to start.
I'm not sure I understand the problem correctly.
The connects 2 devices allow the head unit to be controlled by the stork, other connects 2 boxes allow the reversing sensors to work etc. The ISO connector allows the Peugeot built in multi connector behind the dashboard to fit to a different...
Coil spacer blocks. Back in the day they were used as a cheap way of "firming up" the suspension.
You can still get them.....

First thing I would do is to check all the wiring behind the unit. Look for poor or dirty connections. If everything looks good have a search on the Pioneer user forums. Someone will have seen this before and fixed it.
Lots of posts on here about "aftermarket head units", and the kit you need to restore functionality of the clock, Stork controls, reversing sensors etc. An online search for "Connects 2" might help.
