That’s unfortunate mate, I had a similar issue, changed the hpfp and after a couple of days it threw the p0016 up, camshaft crankshaft correlation, each and every time I’ve had a p0116 code I’ve replaced the timing chain kit.
the timing only has to be slightly out for it to throw the code up...
Hi, I have come across this fault with a couple of 208’s I sold last year, if your 208 is fitted with the city brake as Peugeot call it, it has the laser/lens at the top centre of the windscreen encased within the rear view mirror, the lens and the inside of the glass windscreen where the casing...
Well maybe you are correct but go viewing with an open mind, don’t forget these are coming upto 10 years old so won’t be perfect, keep hunting the right one will turn up
Just had a look at the advert, looks like there is 2 keys, 1 in ingition and 1 in the centre console, agreed very little wear on the steering wheel, no mention in the advert about service history though.
worth HPi ing it as the logbook was changed February 2024, could be a private plate was on...
Hi mate, looks like the local garage haven’t a clue which cylinder is which, on Peugeots and Citroen no 1 cylinder is closest to the gearbox and no 4 cylinder is nearest the timing chain
There’s a R on autotrader with off road suspension fitted! i wonder what the hells going on with that one,
on a positive note it’s priced on the cheap side, could Be a bargain for someone good with the spanner’s
I don’t experience much torque steer on my R to be honest, agree that the brakes are superb, best thing about it though is the smile it puts on your face when driving it
Agreed, if your spark plugs and coils are good then, HPFP seems to be showing early signs of failure, if you haven’t had it refurbished or replaced, stands a good chance.
usually if the timing is out you would get timing codes eg p0016 stored.
have you access to a decent fault code reader that...
Hi mate, I would change your spark plugs first of all, I’ve had it with numerous Mini Cooper s, same engine, they run fine until you floor the throttle and it can misfire badly, worth a try first of all.
it doesn’t always throw up the engine management light but may have codes stored in the system, yes the thermostat is inside the housing and is a complete unit.
Yes classic sign of your thermostat stuck open, will only warm up when idling, had one on a Peugeot 208 gti (same engine) last month with exactly the same symptom, make sure the cooling system is bleed correctly as well.
