Try this. Sit in the car and put the window all the way up. Turn off the ignition. Hold the window switch in the up position and turn the ignition to the first setting. Hold for around 10 seconds. That should recalibrate the electric window. You can do the same with the down position and the...
It's not actually that difficult. There's a guide on here somewhere but my advice is to do the drivers side one first as you can see what you're doing. Then do the passenger side one as that one has to be done by touch only.

There's a specific part to attach the negative clip to. It's detailed in the manual but it's a little bolt on the front right hand side of the engine bay when you lift the bonnet (right at the front, next to the right headlight).
