Not really happy with the yearly check of the spark plugs  . I replaced them exactly one year ago BOSH 0 242 135 518 (EAN 4047024277816)

Time for NGK?

I'm going to remove the inlet manifold and check the valves 😱.

I always prefer NGK but my next set will be the Platinum ones (BKR6EQUP) they have quad electrodes & can apparently withstand higher temperatures at detonation they are slightly more expensive but can have a longer service life

Notting done for the inlet manifold  , I need the deep socket (13mm). I closed everything.
I took a look inside the cilinders with an Aliexpress OTG endoscope. The top of all pistons looks really bad .

The NGK BKR6EQUP are nice, not much more expensive than what I paid for the Bosch ones.
I did about 25000 km with them. It is the first time I see that brown burned ring around the insulator of the spark plugs.

The normal colour of a good performing plug should be a shade of grey & brown

Probably is oil residue but the insulator looks as per normal if the have been in for a considerable time at least they are not sooty!
