I'm going to be detailing a van this weekend which has stickers on, is it safe to use trix over the stickers or should I tape them off?

Trix or any other diswashing "grease cutters" should be avoided if it can penetrate into door skins and other panel cavities (eg. via window mohair seals etc). This is where manufactures commonly use wax based sealants on the metal folds. It's there to stop water entering the folds and causing rust.

Many of those products also act as wetting agents even as residue, and so breakdown the surface tension of beaded condensation or other water before it evaporates - allowing deeper penetration and potential for rust.

Trix is a combined tar and iron contaminant remover not a grease cutter. This is also thoroughly rinsed down so water will only get into areas where rain would. If it's waxed then there shouldn't be a problem.
