It feels like Im riding on square wheels. Just got my engine mounts sorted so car feels smooth af until I get onto a slightly bumpy road. 170k kms on the car, I think suspension probably hasnt been replaced since factory.

Im hoping to get her back to original smooth comfineds in rode quality. Or even better than original. I only really do occasional spirited long distance driving.

What should I be replacing here? What should I be getting?

Blindly replacing parts only because you suspect the suspension to be shot?
I recommend to run a proper check at a specialist first. It could be only some links to be replaced. Who knows. Checking will save you money & time

Hi mate! "Feels like I'm riding on square wheels" would generally denote not blindly replacing parts.

Given, Ive posted more on the fb page than here, a little background: car came to me at $14.9k with 150k on the clock. Mechanics assessment for all required repairs totalled $27k. Previous owner reckoned services were optional after 100k or so apparently.

Anyway, have slowly been going through that list with some more sensible prices and now suspension is next on the checklist, as I've been advised.**

Engines been replaced, new rotors and pads all around, wheels, alternator, rad, water pump. Heater core and turbo (effing wastegate rattle and error codes) after that.

But then that's what Im asking, aside from the actual shocks+springs (or coilover replacements) what generally needs to be replaced to improve that ride quality? Links, bushes, mounts? What, exactly. What's the usual partlist of what gets replaced.

(I mean I didn't even know the hydraulic engine mount was a thing until it was shown to me, night and day when it was replaced.)

Alright. thanks for the heads up.
Sounds like you have a spending spree behind and in front of you. Start with the links, if they are worn. Lower bushes could also be a culprit but check them first. Are the rims and tyres absolutely OK?
I managed in my R over 200k km without any suspension parts to be replaced at all. And I put that car through some paces during my time. So I wonder what the previous owner of your RCZ did to that poor car.

Thank you Brother,

I'm getting to the point where I'm good to replace all for peace of mind, purchase history says car came from interstate about 1000km away. Inspection mechanic said it might have been tracked for the wear and tear he could see and sold before things started falling apart.

Rims are rashed but good, tires are due for a replacement but worn tires never go out this badly that I remember.

There does seem to be a common problem with broken springs I see it coming up quite often throughout the RCZ groups but dampers never seem to get a mention I’ve just bought a bilstein coilover kit that to be honest wasn’t that expensive they’re bilstein originally so they should know the car they’re factory set up for the car and are suitable for all the models even the R
I’m fitting them this weekend so I’ll let you know how they feel from stock 👍

Awesome thanks guys.

So these two are what I'm understanding the big ones we need to look at. Could you explain what they are and how many?

Sway Bar Links (Rear and Front? )
Control Arm Bushes Rear and Front and top and bottom?)

I don't actually know any thing about these.

Hi
How did you get on with the Bilsteins
My second front coil spring has broken and considering fitting a complete set of b14 s
Due to doubts that the garage know the Z they are literally only replacing the spring, not the top mount or the single use nuts and bolts .
