remove the drivers wing mirror

Hi could anyone help me please, I'm trying to remove my drivers wing mirror, but I'm struggling with the support base, I've removed the door panel but get hit by a riveted speaker and all metal, just cant get to it. pulling my hair out.. a guy on a push bike while on his phone smashed into it and it flops down, managed to disconnect so doesn't close/move. looks like the part that goes onto the base has snapped inside.. any help grateful.
