Nice!! Is this a new trim line? It looks like it has the exhaust from the R and those arches look champagne?

Taking a page out of Audi's S line book, Peugeot has just launched the RCZ GT-Line model in Europe. If the car in our photos looks familiar, that's because it looks exactly like the RCZ R hot model, but it's powered by the basic engines.
Available in France from €34,950, the GT-Line offers customers the same look as the RCZ R with a choice of either the 1.6-litre turbocharged THP making 200 hp or the 2-liter diesel HDi unit rated at 163 hp.
It's not only about the looks, as the GT-Line package is supposed to deliver a more engaging feeling… somehow. But all we see that they've spruced up the grille, added 19-inch alloy wheels in the "Le Mans" design and fitted chrome exhaust tips.
The interior gives you upholstery in dark grey Alcantara and black leather, tied together by the red stitching on the instrument panel, steering wheel, shift lever, floor mats, door interior trim. The sporty nature of the car is underlined by the shorter shift lever, leather sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals.
Standard kit includes Bi-Xenon headlights with cornering function, the navigation system WIP Nav Plus and LED daytime running lights. Of course, this being Peugeot, you also have a wide range of colours to choose from and are even able to specify the finish you want for the alloy wheels.
Peugeot has also installed the artificial sound generator from the 308 GT, but only on the 200 hp petrol engine, since the diesel is an older generation.
Editor's note: I swear, somebody at Peugeot looked at the new Audi TT, realized people are buying the S line models and decided to offer the "GT-Line".

Hmm, just trying to work out exactly what's so different about this? The description, is exactly what I'm driving already, except for the grill badge & R style exhaust.
Seems quite a premium for a couple of bits of kit. :thumbdown:
It's good that they are still "developing" the model, but I think if they are serious about it, they need to think a bit more outside the box than that. :eusa-think:

I know Pug want to keep the car fresh and keep the sales rolling through the dealerships but I don't quite get...
A why they have in effect produced a fake R and
B why would anyone would buy one knowing at some point when the lights go out and whatever races off into the distance you are going to have that sinking feeling and know in yourself your driving a fake R for those that can remember its the same as the boy racers of the past cutting vents into the bonnet of their bog standard 1300 escort putting some wheels on it and badging it as an RS Turbo great until you are called on to produce some performance from it!!
Also agree that seems bit pricey for a few bits of in effect trim

Not quite the same, the 200 isnt exactly a slow car for starters, handling is very good, the R spec exhaust really do look nice, and i would imagine that someone who wants less power in a car but similar looks will love this model.stingray_dave said:

I didn't say the 200 was a slow car but its not an R so why make it look like one?
As an ex Custom Car builder whose engineering skills went beyond sticking braided hoses in the engine bay and shiny wheels onto a car before tagging it a custom car I guess it was always my thing to build street sleepers i.e. standard looking cars that were bleeding quick rather than the sheep in wolfs clothing approach which the twin pipes on the above seem to lean toward so think we might have different ideals that's all

Its a parts bin special.All manus do it when ending production.It becomes a sort of frankenstein ..made of parts from previous runs. However it gives the vultures a chance to pick on the bones,whilst keeping the price up as they kill it off. :eusa-shhh:

I agree about the run-out models. There have been so many over the years with usually fantasy names like Fiesta Phoenix etc. it's usually just before they change the body shape, but it seems in the Z's case it's before they pull the plug completely......

again biggyrick and mrizzle I just think we have different takes on cool cars e.g. my vette has tuning parts I would bet you would have to google to know it even exists (harmonic balancer anyone?) which takes it up to circa 500BHP while retaining a totally stock exterior ie not a wrap or quad exhaust in sight
it doesn't mean I'm right or your wrong
I just still struggle with "look a like" cars and while I realise its a popular route for manufacturers to follow it doesn't mean I have to think its right or that I have to change my opinion that the people who drive them are a little sad!
