In the maintenance book of my 2010 THP 156HP, in the recommended oils, the graphic on the left suggests that more viscous oils can be used in warmer climates.

Here the thermometer almost never drops below 0C.

In the next oil change I will put 5W40, I hope that the oil consumption will be reduced, now it has 0w30 and consumes 1 liter every 3000 km

I have only had my RCZ 156 for about two months and in that time have covered about 1500 miles almost 2,400 K'm and it's used a little more than 1 litre. Although in the UK where it does tend to get cold at this time of year I am thinking of changing to a 0/40 or a 5/40 we rarely get below -7c here what oil consumption do others find and with which oils? The first multigrade oils to go on sale here were 20/50 whereas previously oils were changed summer and winter.
