The diesel is a 163bhp beast. It’s supposed to be bullet proof (engine wise).
The petrol comes in 3 flavours, 156, 200 & of course the 270 bhp R.
The 200 was the fastest car Peugeot had made until the R came along, and even the 156 is far from a slouch.
You have a choice of 2 levels of spec. Sport is the “entry” level, but is still awesome, then the GT was top spec.
There are various “packs” that were available as an option, these include sat nav, xenon headlights, colour coding, and even quad exhausts, although the latter has proved to be a very popular 3rd party after market add-on.
I think by far the most popular ”pack” has proved to be the “vision” pack, which is basically directional xenon headlights. These things are better than superb.
Whichever model you settle on, whatever level of equipment, and however many “packs” or lack of, your car has, it will be about the best looking car you are ever likely to own.
Its quite hard to describe the feeling really. I’ve had good looking cars, I’ve had fast cars, but I’ve never had a car that 5 years on, I still look for reflections in shop windows as I drive past, and always look round at least twice when a I park up.
