Good afternoon all, I fitted an aftermarket sony touch screen head unit to my RCZ, but the wiring I got from Halfords on the back didn't allow me to use steering wheel controls or let me use my parking sensors + it gave me an EML light that was for " unable to connect to the body control module "
I've recently purchased a new wiring harness for the back and I can now get the steering wheel controls to work but still, I'm getting the EML light for the same fault and I believe its related to the parking sensors not working has anyone fitted an aftermarket touch screen to the car and got the parking sensors working without any problems & could you help me with it, ill upload photos of what I'm dealing with in 10minutes :) Thank you in advance!!!

If you do a quick search on here for double din units you will find that there are members who have completed similar installations and have managed to get everything working.
I haven’t done this myself, but I think it might involve buying extra cables.
I’m sure someone will be along shortly with more information.

So i contacted Connects2 and they replied to me saying that there is no way to replace the NG4 radio because there is no way to make a harness that fits the steering wheel controls and parking sensors and without this its causing an EML "unable to connect to body control"

Does yours have in built sat-nav screen? I assume it does as it's an NG4. From what I have seen from various posts I don't believe we can get all controls fully working when fitting a double din unit in RCZ with built in sat nav. I have an RT6 and did look around to see if possible to install a double DIN unit with everything working but don't think it's possible. I also looked at what needed to be done to do screen mirroring but decided it's not worth the investment and effort.

yeah its got the dash screen that goes up and down?
Im not to fussed about that working as i was planning to remove it and replace it with something else its more the EML thats annoying me " because the parking sensors arent connected "

I had a company fit a stereo for me. They did get the parking sensors working, but they couldn't clear the EML with the other screen disabled. The car needs to communicate with it according to them.

With the sat nav screen missing you can't control settings. The clock on the dash can't be altered either.

I've gone back to just using Android Auto on my phone and pairing through Bluetooth.

ahh :( my standard radios broke, wacked it with my knee cleaning the car and sort of pushed the middle turn nob in breaking the circuit board behind didnt really want to pay Ebay £700 for a used replacment when i could get a nicer looking one for less :p

if all i need to do is power the screen ill try figure a way of cutting/wiring it up hopefully all goes well

Good luck and let us know if you manage to sort it out as I am sure a few people would be interested. As many people have managed to do where they don't have in-built Sat Nav it may be possible to replace the in-built one with the normal display but ideally better if can keep the sat nav display as well.

Hi, Im new to the forum, just wanted to add that I just fitted a chinese double din that I purchased on Ebay, I've lost both front & rear parking sensors & my EML is on. Pretty much a waste of time, Going to refit the original radio again tomorrow, jeez, looks good too & really good sound

Unfortunately Peugeot like routing a lot through the stock units.
Hence why I never even considered changing any of the head units in my Peugeot cars.

Ancillary systems are controlled from the BCM (Body control Module) this works in conjunction with the ECU (They talk to each other) when you alter adjust or even replace a mechanical or electrical component on the car both computers need to reconfigure the data needed to calibrate so they recognise that the signals are compatible with the imputed onboard system from the default settings ( manufacturers default coded system) that's why when a few people have tried to set up new updated equipment the upgrade has caused the computers not to recognise the newly installed wiring/programming hence they block certain modifications to protect the circuits already installed in the car when it was built

Last year we had a Kenwood Touch Screen Air Play unit installed into our RCZ R. It fitted perfectly and looked the bees knees but unfortunately it created so many sensor faults in the end we had it removed and the original unit put back in. The company we used are a car entertainment specialists and said the RCZ Z is more complicated than the standards RCZ. Fortunately we were able to get a full refund on the Kenwood unit. So I guess lesson learned. If anyone on here has come up with an aftermarket entertainment system that has worked well with the RCZ R I'd be really grateful. Failing that I will just have to live with the existing system :)

Its The software Peugeot installed that is the problem the R is more than Likely the same as all others except it will have different ECU & maybe BSI parameters that is why their product is not compatible with the inbuilt system onboard

Hi Pedro. Yes you're absolutely right. In fairness the overall quality of the entertainment system is pretty good. It served me right for trying to be too flash!!
