Is timing a 156 the same process as the 200, central head core plug blown.

My wife's car is a 200BHP which has blown the central 16mm core plug in the cylinder head, when it blew I thought it was a head gasket failure, I refilled the expansion tank and the car took about 3 litres of water very quickly......... alarm bells rang and we arranged recovery of the car. When I drained the sump it was full of water. My local Peugeot garage said its impossible to pour water into the expansion tank and for it to end up in the sump, oh right I showed them the recovered core plug. Water was able to run from where the plug should have been down the back of the engine into the sump.

Cut a long story short I have changed the head gasket and await a replacement core plug............. needless to say Peugeot were less than helpful wanting to sell me a new head.

My question, is there a difference process to set the timing of a 200bhp to the standard 156bhp engine, I have a workshop manual for the RCZ and watched videos but they all show the 156 being timed.

If the process is different has some kind sole on here got details. Best regards Bob

Thanks Charlie, I assumed it would be the same but you never know and to ask the question is a lot less costly than bashing on and finding there are subtle differences. Thanks for the swift reply have a good day. Cheers Bob
