Hi all, hoping someone can advise as it’s annoying the **** out of me.
So needed rear brakes pads & discs, so whipped off the old stuff and the first caliper went back fine, the second one though wouldn’t budge back so I removed it and left the pipe in a jar to catch the wee bit of fluid I anticipated. Stripped the caliper and rebuilt it all fine wood the piston back lovely then went and refitted it to the car and connected everything up and refilled the master cylinder ready to bleed…… therein lies the issue as I have bled many a motor over the many years and started on the rear left expecting plenty of air and movement etc but not a great deal.
Symptoms are now that you can pump the pedal up and it then goes down whilst you have your foot pressed on it and when I start the car it says ‘STOP’ and bleeps with a brake sign on the centre display on the dash. Scanned for codes - none, read online there is a ‘second’ bleed that can only be done using the diag tool at specialists or dealers?
Why would it not pump up when all that happened is the brake fluid drained through? Is there a way to bleed it at the master cylinder?
any help would be much appreciated as I can’t drive it to a dealer or specialist as it’s got no brakes now…….
thanks
