Evening fellow members, can anyone enlighten me in regards to the GR 200 rockers cover ?? We are in the middle of an engine rebuild, and my mechanic friend is also rebuilding a mini cooper S which has the same engine. However, there appears to be a difference in the rocker cover in the BMW has spark plug Shields and my RCZ GT 200 appears not to have them ??

Peugeot spare parts approach engineers who appeared unable to answer the question ??
It could be that the RCZ 200 doesn’t have spark plug shields contained in the rocker but the mini does??

I’ve attached a picture of the mini rocker cover which obviously you can see has Sparkford Shields does anyone recognise from there RCZ the same Shields? (These are missing on mine if that’s the case) 22A8D5B8-257C-4FBC-AB87-AABD96C051D0.jpeg

Do you know what the part number of the one from the Mini?

I am looking to replace my rocker cover for my THP200. Not that easy to find. I don't believe the one for THP200 has built in shield in the rocker. These are some options which supposedly fit THP200 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/0248s7

I ended up buying one for Mini with part number 11127646552 which supposedly the same as PSA 0248S7 and it doesn't look to have built-in plug shield. I will find out next week whether it fits or not.

I literally just received the rocker cover from NeoBrothers and it doesn't have metal shield.

I won't know for sure until I take it to the mechanic next week whether it fits or not. If you need one I will let you know whether it fits or not. It's just under £79 from NeoBrothers which is a very good price.

So just to confirm did you have the shields on your original one that you're replacing?

Replaced the turbo with an original OEM mew part but it also had different attachments fittings even though it's exactly the same part !! Now need to fabricate an extra bracket!

Sorry, I have not checked yet. Suspect it doesn't have one but will let you know.

Much appreciated
Just checked and my original one doesn't have the shield either. The new one I got which is supposedly the same as PSA 0248S7 is compatible for the following Minis.

Mini R55 Clubman 10-13 - Cooper S & JCW models with N18 engines
Mini R56 Hatchback 10-13 - Cooper S, JCW & GP2 models with N18 engines
Mini R57 Convertible 10-13 - Cooper S & JCW models with N18 engines
Mini R58 Coupe 11-13 - Cooper S & JCW models with N18 engines
Mini R59 Roadster 11-13 - Cooper S & JCW models with N18 engines
Mini R60 Countryman 12-16 - Cooper S & JCW models with N18 engines
Mini R61 Paceman 12-16 - Cooper S & JCW models with N18 engines

That's more or less what we thought, obviously, the mini (original) in this case is a 2013 Cooper S had the spark plug heat shields, appears when you order rocker you just gett the rocker non of the add ons and the RCZ rocker never came with plug shields anyway, not unusual I suppose for manufacturers to add something even though it's the same part !

On another note, I purchased a new turbo OEM but the fittings are 'slightly' different there's one external mounting bracket where the fuel line (I think) was attached to stabilize but on the new one there's no bracket even though the part is correct for RCZ and of course similar BMW engines.

Anyway, really appreciate you checking and confirming the spark plug cover issue which had created a bit of consternation !!

No worries, I am taking mine to an independent Peugeot specialist as I believe the thermostat housing has a crack as losing coolant around the area. Also will get him to replace the rocker cover. Fingers crossed it's the right one. Will get him to inspect the car for anything which may need addressing. Planning to get the bushes replaced and potentially shocks and springs as well.
