Gear Shift knob reverse lockout spring

Hey guys, I got a 2011 RCZ 200THP secondhand and from the beginning there the reverse lockout had no spring in it.

So just wanted to check if this is normal or is there supposed to be a spring in it that pushes it back down?

So just an update, I went ahead and tore down an old Nerf gun and found a spring that fits. I put that in between a gear knob adapter and the reverse lockout and it worked perfectly!

I still don't know if it's supposed to have a spring or not lol
