Hey guys,

So a second post regarding my baby, altough i love my RCZ to pieces, it's getting on my nerves

So recently it started throwing up some faults, during which it chugs and the MIL comes on.
The car then chugs and shows a message on the matrix display that i need to get it fixed.

It usually happens whenever i just start it, drive off and you can just feel not all cilinders are pulling their weight.
It starts to chug and throws itself into limp mode refusing to go above certain speeds.

The fault codes i'm getting are
P0087 (High Pressure Fuel Pump - System pressure to low)
P1336 (Misfire on several cylinders)
P1337 (Misfire on cylinder 1)
p1339 (Misfire on cylinder 3)

I replaced all four coils (the rod things that slide over the spark plug, just clarifying since i'm not sure if google got the translate right)

The weird thing was, with the old coils it wasn't 1 and 3 that bogged me down, it was 3 and 4, i swapped 1 and 4 (For a test) that seemed to sort it out, bought 4 new ones and swapped those, hoping that would please the Peugeot gods and cure my baby.
To no avail.

Now that fault list is all i have.

Any suggestions ? i did check with a peugeot dealership to get a quote, its about €595 + about €180,- in service costs.

Seen a post before on this with no clear resolution, so i'd figure i'd ask and update once i have something done on it.

Thanks guys!

A fault code indicating coil 4 is also an indication that the hpfp (high pressure fuel pump) is failing. Sadly this is not an uncommon fault, and here in the UK usually costs in the region of £800 to replace.
couple this with your P0087 fault code (High pressure fuel pump- system pressure too low) and the fact that replacing all the coil packs hasn’t removed the fault, it might well be that you will need a new hpfp.☹️

Hi, yes I’m afraid your going to have to bite the bullet and replace the HP fuel pump, you can get them replaced for around £500 now and a specialist repairer even cheaper.

I'd say the first code is a good indication of the issue, unfortunately.

So Peugeot finally did the check on my car

Indeed the HPFP is defective as expected

They've given me a quote for €1400 (£1189) ($1561)
its partly the pump and they want to do a big service on the car as well, since it's been 40.000 km (25.000 miles) since its last service according to the log

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions
with special thanks to Wilsofar, maybe our British friends can make use of that phone number in case they run into the same thing.

Last year Neo Bros in Waltham Cross supplied me with HPFP for £339.95 including VAT. (01992 719280)

Cheers guys

So after all this time i finally got it back

They replaced my fuel pump, did some maintinance aswel
(cleaned the valves, replaced the timing chain, sparkplugs and such)

This seems to have adressed the problem i was having
Hoping this now stays fixed and i get to enjoy my car for a litlle more

🤞 it’s all sorted now. Let’s hope 2020 is going to be a great new year for all of us.
