Body control module

I recently purchased a lovely pearlesent white rcz. 2011 hdi 82000. Ive had the car 3 wks and it's been back in the garage for the last week. I had an engine fault light come on so took it back, turns out it's a body control module fault. My question is, just how serious is this? I had a friend plug it I to his Solus Ultra this suggested the fault was a fuel Flow regulator blocked open. Any ideas if this could lead to any other long term problems?
