DANIELLA if it was expensive its great oil as when it comes down to these sort of things you only get what you pay for,but the smaller bottle the less value for money.

It would be useful to have a list of recommended oils for the different engines (unless this exists somewhere already).

I have the THP200 (EP6CDTX engine).

The quartz Ineo looks like it is geared for diesels (though says can be used on petrols).

mobil 1 ESP formula looks OK too as it seems to be fully synthetic

The castrol edge long life looks good a well, but when I do a compatibility search on Castrol for my motor it recommends; Magnatec Stop-Start 0W-30 C2

Peugeot will always recommend TOTAL.

Because they are in bed together. :eusa-think:

That's true ....

So what we really need then is a comparison list of equivalent oils ....

Who's gonna start it off then ?

Australia ? Greece ? Yuk-kay ?

He hee ... Cheers M..

It's a hard one.

For my 207cc Sport THP150, I used Mobil 1 0W40 for years. Then decided to change to Castrol Edge FS 5W30.

Reason? Castrol is cheaper by about 15% and both are BMW LL-1 certified.

But then again, I am fastidious re oil changes, so I have changed the oil every 3,500 miles for it's life.
It's as clean as a whistle inside.

After my frequent oil changes I noticed that the oil temp gauge reads a 'touch' cooler.

For the RCZ, it's the same oil.

Well ,

I always feel a doubt with Engine Oil so when it comes to Decision i waste some money to compare

i had done Compare between ( liqui moly - castrol - Total - Shell - valvoline ) all of them were 5w30

so far with that hot climate

1- Castrol edge 5w30
2- Valvoline SYN Power 5w30
3- Total Future FGC 5w30
4- Liqui Moly toptec 5w30
5- Shell ultra 5w30

these comparison regarding 3 main facts

1- Evaporation of oil
2- Temperature
3- Engine sound

i hope it's useful for you guys

So, I have always gone down the route of Total Ineo Quartz as recommended by Pug.

I have just treated my Z to a dose of EXTRALUBE ZX1 and at the same time I got some Petronas Syntium 7000 E- 0W-30 for top ups between services.
As the car has a service contract with the main stealers, the regular oil change will presumably be Total quartz.

I was amazed at how “thin” the Petronas is, but if it’s good enough for Lewis Hamilton, it will do for me :eusa-think:

btw, when I typed my reg in to Halfords website, it came up with RCZ 200GT and recommended the above oil.

As my R engine requires the occasional fill up between the services (about 1 L) I often grab what is on the shelf of any gas station. I only stick to the 5w30 or 0w30 classification. Those choices did not hurt the engine.
The fill ups btw the service are only required when I push the engine to max. Which I often and with excitement do :p

It seems you are easily excited RCZ-R,
maybe your next car choice should be a little city car like a Toyota Aygo !
This might curtail your excitement and stop you getting into a sticky mess !!

I'm a sucker for the specs and the car still has 18months Peugeot Extended Warranty so: 0w30 Quartz Ineo First Fill
