Is there any visual clues in the engine bay, as to which engine a RCZ has, ie, 156, or 200?

Does the car's VIN Plate give this information?

Look at the coil packs, 156 are straight, 200 are on an angle.

Thanks Richk.

The bad news is that I've just bought a 156, when I was hoping it would be a 200, but that's not the end of the world, as I have been dying to try an RCZ out on a track ever since I saw that Snetterton used to use one as their instructors car, and seeing how well made they are, from braking one for spare parts. For me power doesn't equate to fun on track, it's all about how wired into a car you feel, not outright speed. My 740bhp RS6, while terrifyingly fast and accomplished, wasn't anywhere near as much fun as my 172 Clio

The 200 variant has the stamped brushed alloy cover on the top of the rocker & it will only fit this engine the 156 has only the turbo pipework across the front

Thanks Pedro

Am I right in thinking that the bottom ends of both 156 and 200 engines are the same, and that it's the heads that are different?

156-240 N-m (177 Lbf- Ft) at 1.400 RPM is the standard engine design
200-270 N-m (203Lbf-ft) at 1,770 RPM Engine has a reputedly uprated bottom end powertrain & cylinder head plus a twin scroll Turbo & Uprated suspension plus 19"wheels &different trim packs

All you need is a stage 1 remap on the 156 and you’ll have a different car ideal for what your looking for
