There must be a sequence to reset the unit. My old CLK would go through a flap reset sequence if you pressed a couple of the buttons together at the same time. Appeal to Peugeots garage for a bit of freebie info - the unit is very common!

You can get an app on your smart phone, and a blue tooth OBD adapter, that you can set up to show your engine coolant temperature in a nice big digital display. Then you can wait until temp gets to about 60c then have your fun.

I just had mine a short time and just can't wait to go out in it whenever I get a chance. Try cleaning the contacts (bulb and holder) of the iffy light, my old CLK used to do the same thing.
