Final update on turbo , my mechanic remembered that he hadn't cleared turbo fault code so cleared code cooling fan is off old washer back on oil feed banjo as was leaking with new washer, leak done happy days my z is like new🙂
Rcz in the garage having a new turbo fitted strange thing cooling fan was on full pelt sounded like a jet engine lucky I took her in eml came up for turbo and loads of smoke oil inside turbo and small crack, can't wait to have here back😃
Hi there Carl did you mean fan still on at full pelt, just had same happen to me last Wednesday car in garage mechanic moved car few yards to inspect fan constantly on issue, plumes of smoke eml on turbo gone😳😳 ordered new turbo, there's me thinking all it was maybe fan resistor or coolant...
As Pedro said stem seals is most likely, was thinking of doing mine but I'll leave it for now,another thing I was thinking of doing was to service the turbo as I'm on 71000 miles just for the sake of ruling the turbo out,at least I will know that both turbo and pcv are OK, as I said before smoke...
