Good question. My mate / mechanic didnt actually give it to me but said his diagnostic identified front wheel speed sensor issue. He has ordered a new wheel bearing as well as replacing the sensor. I'm going to see him tomorrow so will ask. I'm not actually paying for the work as I provide the...

Re the speed sensor...we replaced that today but fault code still shows , the wheel bearing looks a bit worse for wear so will replace as well.

Not sure. Left the car with the mechanic to sort and will be going tomorrow to have a look and see...

Tiny amount at the back of the engine. Couldn't work out where from at first but think we have got it sorted...hopefully...just need to get it fixed. Yes I can imagine that seeing smoke in the mirror would be enough to cause some panic lol...think I would need a lie down

Hi A few weeks ago I posted about an oil leak that left a drip of oil on the floor but wasn't easily pinpointed. After a very helpful chap spent some time cleaning and checking we seem to have a really small drip coming from the oil pump control electro valve as he calls it. Wonder if anyone...

It had to have the head gasket replaced and an o ring. Also the cv joint boots were worn and replaced. That's it apart from the latest warning lights.

Yes...wise words. I guess the dealer is being good so far and have behaved decently. It's on about 60000 and had a full dealer history up to 2 years ago and then I guess wasn't looked after so well. Its frustrating but I have never bought a used car before as fortunate enough to have had new...

Had car 4 weeks , first an oil leak and now this...the dealer it came from has not run away, sorted the oil leak and has asked me to pop car to them to get it looked at again. Love the car but its a little frustrating. I realise its 10 years old. Does anyone else have this kind of experience...

The oil vapour could be it...the garage have been pretty honest so far and had the car over the weekend. They replaced an O ring that was worn but haven't seen anything else. Think I will keep the oil checking on a regular basis and see how it goes. Ta

Thanks...I'm a bit obsessive so probably will have a quick check daily as I suppose it only takes a few minutes and is worth it .

Yes. Did this and initially there were a few drips, all drivers side towards middle (front to back) of engine I think. It's less today and the levels have stayed the same when checking the dipstick at the top level. Will try another bit of cardboard tomorrow . Appreciate all the suggestions...
