I eventually found 1, £60 for the part which isn’t bad
unfortunately for me I never have any luck what so ever and especially with this car, it’s not just the thermostat on it’s own that’s knackered the bigger issue is the straight plastic pipe at the back that connects to the thermostat has a...
Yeah I have had a look on eBay also, But non specify the exact model the thermostat is for. I have contacted at least 4 different sellers and they all don’t have the size for the MK1 200THP
Anyone have any suggestions as to where I’ll find the 1 im looking for ?
Thanks
Yeah I think the thermostat as well. Any idea which is the 1 I’ll be needing ? As from what I’ve read theres different shaped ones for the MK1 and MK2 isn’t there, Also I have the 200THP does that take a different size to the 156/HDI ?
the ones I’ve looked at online aren’t specifying model...
Thanks for your input.
There has been a drop in coolant level though like i previously mentioned for the second time in a few weeks
and since that has happened for the second time the temperature gauge is now playing up, it seems like a bit of a coincidence to me so it’s lead me to think it’s...
Hey looking for some advice please if anyone has a rough idea as to what they think the problem is here
So roughly a few weeks ago I started the car and it came up with top coolant up, I checked it and it was only a small amount needed topped up so I done this
All was fine driving it, Now a...
Hi,
What do you mean by the ( Valve ) I will certainly pass it on to him of course anything to help at this point is appreciated, but I’m sure he’s convinced it’s the wiring
Hi everyone
So I’ve had my car in the garage for a while now trying to do a process of eliminations and we changed the BSM unit which did wipe a lot of the flagged faults that shouldn’t of been there in the first place so we now know definitely that the fault codes to blame are ( P1048 and...
Ok thanks for the input, Im having a hard time thinking that the valves are dirty or the seals are away as the car and the engine bay is immaculate, the car only just hit 40,000 miles and I’m the 2nd owner it hasn’t had a tough life. The garage would of spotted that also at this point I reckon...
Sorry I do apologise, I see it’s now in the drivetrain section I just couldn’t find after I posted it it so I thought it either wasn’t submitted properly or it was being deleted.
thanks
Thank you for the advice, I’m just seeing this again now. I put the car into the garage the mechanic says it’s the VVT system or wiring. I have made a new post detailing it all.
Thanks
Also can I ask if anyone knows from experience, If the valve timing has failed and it’s not an electrical issue, how much would I be looking at to fix that roughly do you know ?
Thanks again
Hello, looking for help from the knowledgeable folk on here for advice please
So I posted a few weeks ago on here about the car suddenly not starting, i suspected the battery control module but turns it it isn’t, The car turns over but won’t start. It’s had a new HPFP new lambda sensor fitted...
Ok thanks so the Battery power module could be something to be looked into I will pass that onto the garage when come to pick the car up, Is there a way a test can be done on the battery power module to test if it’s faulty or not or to check operating as it should ?
Hi, I feel like I need to give this original posters post a re birth as my car is doing the exact same thing. In October there it got a new HPFP after it went on me and it blew a fuse associated with the HPFP and or one that controls the turbo, after the HFP replacement it would stay in low...
