Changing all the calipers etc?
There is very little options for discs. £700 for Godspeed discs, £1150 for Tarox and £1200 for genuine discs.
The avoidable big bill is to get the brake calipers rebuilt after the first set of brake pads. Don't ever push the pistons back into the caliper.
I had issues when I needed a new alternator. The car did not like the Bosch aftermarket alternator at all. Bosch were sure it was the right part, but the car didn't like it.
The genuine Peugeot alternator was £1000 for the part alone. It was also on back order for a couple of months.
Looking...
The Autotrader advent and recent MOT is 63k.
It is £8995 on Autotrader.
OP, are you not getting much interest? It has been on sale for a long time now.
WBAC valuation is pretty much spot on what a dealer would offer as a trade in on the R. It's pretty much spot on what the valuation guides say for a trade in valuation which is exactly what WBAC are.
Too many people expect car buying, and bike buying services, to offer showroom prices. It's a...
We've all been hoping the future classic status would kick in for years. For some reason that doesn't seem to be happening. Values are slumping rather than appreciating. Values are much lower than they have ever been.
There has been some nice cars going sub £10k recently and not selling. Cars...
Many of the cars on AT keep getting reduced in price or removed without selling.
AT's valuation is £10,050.
Alarmingly the CAP valuation for the R continues to slump. I don't know what is going on. They only value that car at £5800 for a private sale and £4500 for a trade in. WBAC offer...
I don't think you'll be happy with a 200 Andy.
The red one mentioned on eBay looks promising. A few easily reversible tacky modifications, the badges(especially the side ones), the French flags on the sill protectors and the seatbelt pads.
I've never understood budget tyres on a performance...
Grooved and spot drilled discs are cheap and a direct fit.
The calipers look standard, painted red, with Brembo sticker placed oddly.
You can buy fake Akrapovic tips. I can't see a exhaust for the RCZ. They cost a fortune if genuine, but I highly doubt it is.
It looks like someone has painted the brake calipers red and added Brembo stickers.
I've not seen an Akrapovic exhaust on an RCZ before. If it's genuine it's an expensive upgrade. I suspect they are probably fake exhaust tips.
The trade in to clear car has found a new owner.
It was reduced to £9995, which still isn't trade value.
That's another car I'd be worried about having issues. Any dealer trying to sell a car without the required legal protection sets alarm bells off.
How much did it make at the auction?
I hope the garage has failed to fix the problems and has pulled the car from sale rather than ripping off a customer.
The reviews of the garage owner are terrible and I think they would rip off a customer.
A new RCZ R added to AutoTrader today at £7490.
Major alarm bells with that car.
Failed the MOT miserably in June last year. Imbalance across front brakes, brake pads, emissions too high, engine making noises, and emitting blue smoke.
Jacking point damage flagged up previous MOT.
The...
I wouldn't be putting it to the Peugeot garage. They will likely have higher labour charges and probably haven't done the job as often as a indie specialist.
Have you not got someone that specialises in Minis nearby? They'll be familiar with the engine.
If the car has got to 116k miles on the original chain then you're luck will run out soon.
It does strongly sound like the timing chain. I'd get a mechanic to check it out before it's too late.
Sadly it's not a cheap job.
They are on back order at Peugeot Parts Direct(Fish Brothers top)
Have you tried phoning around a few dealers? You might be lucky that one might have springs in stock, but dealers don't carry much stock.
It's also good practice to change both springs at the same time.
I remember when I...
