    Has it ever been disassembled?

I have had my 2010 156HP for 2 years and the previous owner did not give me any repair history, he only had it for 3 months. Do you think the rocker cover in the photos was ever removed or is it the original assembly? I know that the black paste is put on the joints when there is a change in...

Seeking new engine for RCZ 1.6GT.

Here in Spain there are car scrapyards with shelves full of engines, they can even offer you a guarantee, although it would be difficult to find one of an RCZ since it is a rare car here, but I think that in the UK there are many more and it will be easier

    Engine oil

The THP engine spoils the oil quite quickly, with a few thousand km you rub the oil on the dipstick between your fingers and it feels inconsistent, little lubricant and smells toasted, it should be the high temperatures of the turbo that spoils it. Of course changing it every 30,000 km as the...

Misfires and fluctuating advance timing on idle

I don't know if these advance variations are normal or not, if the car has a stable idle I don't think it will be a problem. If there is detonation damage it will probably be in all cylinders.

Misfires and fluctuating advance timing on idle

I think the cylinder head had to be removed, probably the detonation caused damage, also on the piston head. If roughness has been created, hot spots are created that cause more detonation. An endoscopic camera could also be inserted first.

    Turbo lag

All I know is that a bad remapping can ruin an engine, which is why I will never do it. Are you sure all the changes made have been reverted? You may have to go to an official Peugeot garage and have them reinstall the original software.

does the diesel variant make any concessions to ride comfort?

A few years ago I was driving a small Citroen C2 1.6 16V VTR for a few months, very good on twisty roads, I think it has a harder suspension than the RCZ. I'm not complaining, I've always liked cars like that. I don't want swaying while cornering.

open to considering the RC HDi as a daily driver (frightened of the 'Prince' of Darkness that lurks within the ICE!)

As an emergency wheel, I have one from a Peugeot 407 with a 215/55 R17 tire that looks horrible when fitted, it fits much more inside, plus the car runs badly, it trends to go to the side of the narrow wheel. I recommend you avoid such experiments, as I said before the RCZ is a wrong choice if...

open to considering the RC HDi as a daily driver (frightened of the 'Prince' of Darkness that lurks within the ICE!)

On all RCZs except R the standard wheels were 18" with the option of ordering 19".

What parts can be used across the Peugeot range

There is no fixed rule about that, there are parts that are shared with other more popular models and others that are exclusive to the RCZ. And the interior plastic inside of the front wings are exclusive and on eBay they ask for a lot of money for one. The references are: 7136KQ right side...

    Engine oil

The photo is from the maintenance book of my 2010 RCZ. What is the meaning of the graph on the left? titled "Viscosity Fields according to the amplitude of ambient temperatures" Depending on the temperature, can more viscous oil be used? In the last two oil changes I have put Quartz 9000 5w40...

    Engine oil

https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/us/press/press-releases/motor-oil-without-oil.html The main reason to use less viscosity oil is to reduce fuel consumption, not better lubrication And a lower viscosity than recommended should be avoided, read the article.

does the diesel variant make any concessions to ride comfort?

Front brake disc diameter for RCZ: - 156 HP gasoline: 302 mm, would fit inside a 17" rim - 200CV and HDI: 340 mm, the rim must be at least 18" - R : 380 mm, the rim must be at least 19" As you said is a personal taste. The RCZ with 19" and 40 profile tyres doesn't seem hard to me, I've been...

    Hard suspension

There is no maximum or minimum, but rather a recommended pressure, which is 2.4 bar on the front axle, which is 35 psi. Low profile tires are much more delicate when faced with potholes and stones, in the last 35 years I have blown out 4 tires for these reasons, fortunately without accidents...

does the diesel variant make any concessions to ride comfort?

A sports car has a short suspension travel and the suspension must be hard, otherwise it would reach the end of the travel very easily. Diesel is not softer. For a soft suspension a sports car is not the right choice. The HDi weighs 95kg more than the 156 HP petrol one, a weight that is...

You get used to it quickly, especially if you have front distance sensors like my car. They have good lateral sensitivity
