Hi,

Any thoughts as to why I have an "Oil level measurement invalid" message showing temporarily, when I turn on the ignition. Had the car in for oil level sensor changing, but still have the warning. It's foxed my mechanic.

Hope someone can help.

Cheers

Just Googled BSI reset. It's not for the faint hearted is it. Might take a run at it this weekend.

What's your thinking there?
The Battery can apparently & will affect Auxiliary system issues some embers had lost heating Aircon clock heather blower radio etc whist the cars stood too long over the pandemic & if its low on juice will play games with your instrument cluster?

Car used daily but I'll have it checked. Process of elimination.
Only check the Oil when the engine is stone cold as all the oil will have drained off into the sump by then thus you should get a correct reading this issue has cropped up in previous post's see" DRVDTL Aukland" on here he had the same issues
One thing I forgot to mention this fault can be caused by the Oil level sensor & believe it or not the engine being overfilled above the max which is a big no no on the BMW Prince Variants as the high volume of oil sloshing about can blow out the internal oil seals then its big £ signs time
