Passengers side tail light bulb connector

Hi guy's asked this questions on the facebook group and got a couple of responses but thought I would also ask it here.

Last week I noticed the passengers side tail light was totally out. Upon inspecting the light I noticed that there was separation between the clear plastic and the molding - water had gotten in.

I took out the bulb and noticed that there was corrosion on the contacts, presumably caused by the water ingress (it looked the way batteries look when they have been left a while and leak green / blue moldy looking stuff).

Anyway, I tired cleaning the contacts only to break one of the bottoms ones off - so I bought what I though was a replacement bulb socket BAY15D - turns out that is not the correct socket. Just wondering if anyone knows the exact bulb socket I need to get so I can wire it back up to the loom and screw it into the tail light housing?

Also, there seems to be some debate about how many lights are in the tail light housing and what kind of lights they are. I know for sure there is 1 bulb type light, but there are wires running up to the top portion of the tail light, is that an LED that is in there?

Thanks,
Anton

Hi Anton
I think if you have a good look on ebay as there are several cars (RCZs) in the breakers yards and selling if you contact one of them with the side light wire you require and ask them to cut the connector off as low down the wire as possible then it would be a matter of joining the two up.
Also a little info that might be useful for you but not 100 % sure it's the same on the rcz but my brother had a 307 and one of the rear lights went out and the bulb was OK and when checked out at a garage it was fine and one of the number plate lights was broken he replaced the bulb in the number plate and as like magic rear lights were working fine.. Hope this helps you out...

More likely they'll only sell you the whole unit though I would say unfortunately.

I’m sure the connector is on the wiring loom usually just left behind in the car.

Yes I know that my local scrap yard or should I say vehicle dismantler and it would make a lot of you RCZers cry to see so many RCZs in there as he only deals with peugeot and citroen.
There's always the wires etc left behind in most of the cars that the lights have been taken out.
Last time I was there I saw eight.. I have managed to get a few parts just incase I might need them some day.

Managed to snip the part off the wiring loom for the tail light - guy was none to pleased but I did explicitly say what I was after - is it just me or are allot of scrap yards to easy osy, can't be bothered look and quit unhelpful?

They are not all like that but I've had bad experiences with this particular one in Scotland a few times now - anyway a fiver for the loom! will update this if it works...
