To bring this thread to conclusion. My Mechanic found a reasonably priced HPFP for me and replaced it. All above problems now sorted.

Update: Had local garage assess fault/code and it looks like the underlying cause for the ignition issue (engine fault), resulting in limp mode in cold startups, points at the High Pressure Fuel Pump unit. Allegedly, its a common problem! Annoying as it runs fine from 2nd startup. Wondering...

Hi and yes, finally. All above checks done for Bleeding/air locks etc and even the MD recall check, all to no avail. Final option was to change the heater matrix and - It worked.

Update: I've booked in for the recall as its an upgrade on software and a look at the water pump. Still having a heating issue (other thread) so trying everything.

so the update is that thermo tank/housing now changed and heating is better but not quite 100%. Have it booked in for the Recall/Water Pump-software check to see any difference although mines a 2014 and you did say it only affected early models. Then will have to see what next/else can be done...

Have passed your points onto mechanic. Did end up buying original housing from MD as well as the extra connection cables. Concern is that heating was u/s before tank was replaced. Thoughts if that was the case?

Have had cooling system issues this year! My 2014 1.6 THP 156 (petrol) had to have a new water pump due leak and then thermostat housing however, now finding that cabin heating just not heating up despite engine temp ok and coolant levels max. What do you think? (There is a Peugeot recall o/s...

Mine is 2014 and on calling Peugeot I’ve found an o/s recall for software update on cooling system where 1% of vehicles might have an issue 🙄. Sorry not familiar with remap. Will book with local dealer to software update shortly.

Thanks for comments and apols for slow response. Battery is not new and possibly in need of change or charge but...in this case battery was effective. Startup just wasn’t biting. Tbh, hasn’t happened since so putting it down to cold cables as a one off.

Thanks all, useful points. Used the link and confirm no safety recall, so will recheck through the source of that info. Might indeed have been a notice but as car is now +6 yo, have moved away from manufacturer so no comms. Thought it was a long shot.

Got the 1.6 petrol GTthp 156 auto Had the water pump replaced at a private and local garage 6 months ago, after breaking down. Have heard now there is a recall out on the vehicle for this same issue. Thoughts on my chances of getting reimbursement from Peugeot for the cost of water pump...
